A refrigerated (reefer) request needs the target temperature range, whether the goods are chilled or frozen, the packaging, and any cold-chain rules — on top of the usual route, quantity, weight, and timing.

Why temperature detail matters

Carriers match the load to the right equipment — a fridge van, a reefer trailer, or a multi-temperature vehicle — and set the unit before loading. A missing or vague temperature can mean the wrong vehicle, a broken cold chain, or a load rejected at delivery.

What to include

The more precise the temperature brief, the fewer surprises at loading and delivery.

• Target temperature or range (for example 2–8 °C, or –18 °C).
• Whether goods are chilled or frozen, and whether the load mixes temperatures.
• Packaging, and whether goods are pre-cooled before collection.
• Loading method and how long doors stay open during handling.
• Delivery checks: temperature recording, time windows, and acceptance rules.
• Any food-safety or pharmaceutical handling rules that apply.
